Barcelona

WHAT THE FUCK.... have i gotten myself into. the clubs here are wayyy too fun for anybody's own good. you go out after midnight and get home after the sun has risen and you have danced the night away with a sexy brazilian dude (who i think is heath ledger's long lost twin). elise and her friends definitely gave me a great introduction to the night life here, and i'm feeling it now. as it is currently almost 6 pm and i just woke up approximately an hour ago. on our way to the club we got lost in this semi ghetto area for like two hours, which was interesting to say the least. it seems as though spanish men havent ever seen a "rubia" or blonde girl before, which just makes me a target, but it spices things up haha.
yesterday elise showed me around some of barcelona! there is a whole park that is gaudi architecture. it was supposed to be an apartment complex or something, but now is a huge park. his architecture is amazing! he used nature as inspiration for his work and all the pillars and walls and decor are very colorful and have a little gangsta lean to them. he also designed this beautiful church, sagrada familia, that is HUGE and so creative! you'll just have to check out the pictures to understand. elise also showed me this place called the parque de laberinto, where you wind through these beautiful gardens full of lily ponds and fountains, etc, on a mission to find this maze that is SERIOUSLY awesome. for reals, the maze looks like it is straight out of harry potter in the tri-wizard tournament. so... needless to say... we were STOKED. we decided to go in without the map and try to figure out the maze on our own. i definitely checked "getting lost in a maze of hedges " off my bucket list. greeeaatt succcesss.
okay and theenn we went to the montjüic fountain music/light show that is in the center of barcelona in front of the congress building. that sounds kinda lame but it was awesome, you would never imagine how many different combos can be created with water spouts. of course elise and i brought 40s and decided to people watch most of the time. apparently mullets are VERY in style here, which is greatly appreciated for entertainment's sake. there was this asian kid sitting by himself taking a photo shoot... of himself. literally he probably took 50 pictures while we were sitting there and would tweak his hair, smile, pose ever so slightly just to ensure that he got the best picture. soo fuunnyy!! so after our 40s and a plethora of music, we finished up the light show by serenading the russian man next to us with "my heart will go on" -- everyones favorite titanic love song obviously-- and were surprised to find that this song is apparently popular amongst middle aged russian men as well. this set the scene for us to have a great night at the club!
okay so i think i've summed up most of the first day of my summer adventure. barcelona has SO much to offer and is a really cool city. i miss you all and hope you are showing rsd/sb whats uuppp! love love love from barca!!
